Fantastic! We spent New Years Eve 2016/7 at Kristen’s place in Cruïlles and had a great time. The kitchen / dining area is a lovely space for cooking and hosting, the house is well equipped in particular with modern bathroom facilities and the central heating was definitely appreciated in the colder winter months. The village is lovely and quiet with beautiful scenery around and in a great location for exploring the Costa Brava. Highly recommended!

Kristen was very helpfull and nice. Our group of 5 had a wnderfull stay and I can recomend the house. Very nice village og beautiful views of the landscape from the terrase.

We had a lovely 8 day break at the house, which has a very warm feeling and lots of space. It is in a beautiful and tiny medieval village but with the bonus of a local shop and playground. It is a very quick drive to a number of fantastic beaches and restaurants and there are decent supermarkets nearby. The house is very well setup and we would recommend it – it could accommodate two families or a group of several adults and a few more as there are plenty of beds!

The house is very nice, spacious and unusual, it is located in a beautiful medieval village and very quiet. The only downside: the odors from a nearby pig farm … Kristen is very responsive to messages. However, we regret that his staff is not as friendly as her. Indeed, we had unfortunately a delay of one hour for the chek in (arrived from France, we got lost and had no people to join on site but only to the mall usa …). We paid a little pricey for chek out, since it is stated “flexible timetable” has turned into 9am without possibility of discussion with the person managing the premises. This gentleman, after answering the phone roundly us enough (and without letting us visit to chek in) put us in first position for the household! Having a child of 5 years, we especially enjoyed … (especially since we do ask that an additional hour, ie 10h …) So after this extremely pleasant stays in this charming, we had lamented the departure a bit rushed. It would be more correct in this case to note at: schedule: 9 am nonnegotiable …

Kristen and Bas (the local contact) were fantastic and very welcoming. They did everything they could to help us and gave us loads of information on arrival. The villa itself is lovely with bags of character. The amenities are perfect for a long stay. Lunch on the terrace was a treat, as were the fresh figs from the tree in the garden. We were only there for a long weekend for a nearby wedding but wish we could have stayed for at least a week! There is a lot to explore in the local area and we would definitely recommend staying here for a long break.

An amazing place to stay! We were a large group going to a wedding in the area so perfect location, although very quiet and definitely need a car to get around. The place is quirky with loads of character, we were made to feel very welcome and if in the area again would definitely re book.

I booked on behalf of my daughter and my three nephews plus their respective partners. They had a great time and were very pleased with the house. They told me they appreciated the following features (not necessarily listed in order of importance): unique property with a lot of character; well-equipped kitchen; everything was spotless and worked perfectly; plenty of beach and bathroom towels; free wifi; nearby village shop/bar selling fresh bread and croissants as well as basic groceries; two separate sitting areas on different floors. I would like to add that Carme, the neighbour who let us into the house and showed us around, was very kind and helpful. All in all, the house was a success and I would recommend it to anybody looking for non-standard accommodation offering something different.

Great place , well preserved village with good access to surrounding area , sympathetically restored house in sunny setting with views from terrace over surrounding countryside , warm and cosy ( mid winter visit) . Host and local contact very easy to deal with.

We had a wonderful time in Kristens house with charming features – a tasteful mixture of vintage and modern style! The house (we called it our little “castle”) is a clean, quiet and warm place. It was a great place to spend quality time with family and it is small kids friendly. Lots of space, very well equipped kitchen, huge refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, a football, rackets for playing, books… everything you might need during your stay. Beds were top! The photos of the advert match the “real life” house. We often visited the little playground across the street, and of course the attached garden which was great for the kids. We even had a little sundown party on the terrace on our last evening. Cruilles is a small village located in an area where you can explore / visit around many interesting places from museums, beaches and other beautiful towns. We followed the owners suggestions for places to visited (e.g. beaches like Sa Riera, Peratallada…) which were truely worth to see. All in all: recommendable and three thumbs up!

The house is really beautiful and charming. It is big, with many rooms. It is situated in a lovely village, in a very beautiful region. It is also very cool in summer which is very much appreciated. The owner, although not present, is very helpful and reactive by email. It is a pity though that the garden (shown in the photos) is not at the same level as the house. You have to cross a small pedestrian street to get there, and then go down stairs. It is very difficult to enjoy it with young kids: for example it is not possible to relax or have lunch /dinner in the garden while kids are sleeping in the house.

This house is perfectly situated within the pristine medieval town of Cruilles, yet is conveniently just a few minutes drive from the more modern town of Bisbal D’Emporda, which contains all amenities – gas station, supermarket, etc. – you might need for an extended stay in this part of Catalonia. It makes an ideal starting point for car or bike exploration of the region, which offers charming old towns and ruins, excellent restaurants (Raku in Cruces was particularly good), and great local wine. It seems like every time you round a bend, another beautiful old building or spectacular mountain view reveals itself! The house itself is more like a castle – absolutely huge and quite imposing. It has a large kitchen with an excellent stove and big fridge, as well as washer-dryer and dishwasher – in honesty, though, we did less cooking than anticipated as we were drawn into exploring the Catalan cuisine. There are several bedrooms – five or six I think – spread across two floors and then into the tower itself, which is visible from a few kilometers away in most directions. We stayed in the master bedroom which was very comforable and atmospheric. There is a large balcony on the upper floor from which to contemplate the stars at night or enjoy views of the nearby area in the day, and three living rooms, all of which are comfortable, though we spent most of the time in the kitchen-cum-living room as it was the coolest during August. The owner Kristen was very helpful and communicative and provided us with all sorts of tips on places to go and restaurants – I cannot recommend this place enough, both the house and the surrounding area were outstanding, and ideal for anyone (or a group – the place could probably fit 10 comfortably) looking to explore the Emporda region.
