Town of Cruilles

The link below takes you to best recommendations for the Baix Empordan, where Cruilles is located!  Wine, restaurants, beaches, festivals.

Look for the sarcophagi!

The three largest towns of El Baix Empordà by population are Palafrugell and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, both roughly around the 23,000 mark, and Palamós (18k), but the capital is La Bisbal d’Empordà with a population of only 11,000. The total full-time population of the county has remained pretty stable at around 132,000 for the last decade or so, but of course that figure is multiplied during the summer months.

Medieval Towns

Some are more well-known than others and consequently more visited, such as Peratallada and Pals for example, but if you want to avoid tourists there are plenty of villages that are just as impressive but with far fewer people, like Corça, Ullastret and Cruïlles, Monells & Sant Sadurní. We have to admit though that, despite its popularity, Pals is one of our favourites because, apart from the beauty of the village itself, it is perched on a small hill overlooking the green and lush surrounding countryside with its rice fields and views all the way to the sea.
